Global Human Right of Free Access to Law Discussion Group for Citizen Legal Education and Professional Legal Network
The Global Human Right of Free Access to Law Discussion Group, a Citizen Legal Education (CLE) initiative of the Human Right of Free Access to Public Legal Information Advocacy (HURAPLA), promotes responsible discussions on all aspects of the laws that govern the conduct and activities of people, organisations, and governments worldwide. Dr. Leesi Ebenezer Mitee created the Group on 5 September 2019.
Only discussions that are strictly on the law (legal matters, legal issues, or legal topics) are allowed here in this Group. You can ask any question on any legal matter, legal topic, or legal issue and rest assured that fellow members of the Group will gladly give their answers to your question.
The Core Values of the Global Human Right of Free Access to Law Discussion Group
Be patient with those who are learning the law and members of the public who are simply interested in knowing the law. They all deserve equal respect (as human beings) and encouragement.
This Group promotes CITIZEN LEGAL EDUCATION (CLE) that enables every citizen to know the basic principles of law. Remember, IGNORANCE OF THE LAW IS NO EXCUSE for violating it (the Latin expression of this ancient and modern universal legal doctrine or principle is “ignorantia juris non excusat“).
The Group proactively upholds the underlying human rights principles of the EQUALITY and DIGNITY OF EVERY HUMAN BEING, irrespective of race, language, status in society, education, gender, etc. For instance, education remains a privilege because many people worldwide do not still have (adequate) access to it, despite its recognition as a human right.
Therefore, the lack of proper formal education should not create any barrier to human interaction and the exercise of the human right to freedom of expression and opinion. Do not expect every person in this Group to speak or write ENGLISH LANGUAGE to the level you want. Even the native speakers of English language (in England) still make mistakes in the use of English.
Please, correct people in love and kindness. That is a great virtue in life, and it makes you a great person. Remember, there is beneficial reward for every service to humanity. Enjoy the fun and reward of being a mentor to other people.

Notice to Members Who Falsely Claim or Indicate that they Are Lawyers
Who is a lawyer? That is the question.
NOTE: This Global Human Right of Free Access to Law Discussion Group is for EVERY PERSON, every member of society, NOT only lawyers.
This WARNING is only for those who FALSELY CLAIM to be lawyers. For example, if you are not a lawyer, you are NOT ALLOWED to add “Barrister”, “Barr”, etc. to your name on Facebook or anywhere.
A “LAWYER” is any person who studied an accredited law course in an accredited institution (usually a university), graduated successfully from that institution with a DEGREE in law (usually a Bachelor of Laws degree), went further to complete the statutory professional postgraduate LEGAL PRACTICE TRAINING in an accredited institution (e.g. the Nigerian Law School), and thereafter was formally REGISTERED or CALLED TO THE BAR as a Barrister or Solicitor (e.g. in England) or as both Barrister and Solicitor (e.g. in Nigeria).
Even if you have a DOCTORAL DEGREE (PhD) in law (which is the highest degree in law) or you are a PROFESSOR OF LAW (which is the highest academic rank in law), you are not a “LAWYER” if you have not been formally registered or called to the Bar as a Barrister or Solicitor (e.g. in England) or as both Barrister and Solicitor (e.g. in Nigeria).
You are not a lawyer because you are NOT QUALIFIED nor licensed to PRACTISE LAW as a Solicitor or as Barrister in any court of law. You are just a LAW GRADUATE, not a LAWYER.
Members of this Global Human Right of Free Access to Law Discussion Group who FALSELY INDICATE or CLAIM that they are lawyers will be removed from this Group.
IMPERSONATING a lawyer or FALSELY CLAIMING to be a lawyer is a CRIMINAL OFFENCE.
Such people include any member of this Group whose Facebook name includes the words or titles “Barrister” (or wrongly spelt as “berrister”), “Barr”, “Lawyer”, “Solicitor”, “Attorney”, etc., who is NOT a LICENSED LAWYER or LEGAL PRACTITIONER who has been duly called to the Bar in any country.
Further, they include any member of this Group who presents himself or herself in any post or comment as a lawyer when he or she is not a NOT a LICENSED LAWYER or LEGAL PRACTITIONER who has been duly called to the Bar in any country.
The process to remove from this Global Human Right of Free Access to Law Discussion Group all those who violate this policy will start on 28 JANUARY 2021.
Those who are affected by this policy should take note and act accordingly.
NOTE: This Global Human Right of Free Access to Law Discussion Group is for EVERY PERSON, every member of society, NOT only lawyers.
This NOTICE is only for those who FALSELY CLAIM to be lawyers. For example, if you are not a lawyer, you are NOT ALLOWED to add “Barrister”, “Barr”, etc. to your name on Facebook or anywhere.
Best wishes

The Nature of the Tagged Names in the Welcome List of New Members of the Global Human Right of Free Access to Law Discussion Group
Facebook AUTOMATICALLY generates the tagged names of new members of every Facebook group.
It is impossible to rearrange the names and still preserve the individual Facebook TAGS.
If you copy the names from Facebook and rearrange them in any way (alphabetically, for example), the names will lose their TAGS when you paste them back into a Facebook group’s welcome message.
The automatic Facebook TAGS are important because they ALERT all the people whose names are included in any post. Without those tags, no member will be automatically notified of their welcome message.
Thank you.

Our Apology for Non-Inclusion of Your Name in Our Daily New Members Welcome Message
Dear Distinguished New Member
We are sorry that your name was omitted in the list of new members that we try to post every day, please. Facebook automatically generates the list of new members (this Group does not generate it).
Further, Facebook automatically lists only the first 300 members of a group for their official welcome message. That is the reason a new member’s name may not appear in the lists we publish, and the Global Human Right of Free Access to Law Discussion Group is sorry about it, please.
The Global Human Right of Free Access to Law Discussion Group, her Administrators, and all her Distinguished Members heartily and specially welcome you as a new Distinguished Member of the Group.
Thank you so much for your kind understanding.

Change of Name to Global Human Right of Free Access to Law Discussion Group
27 February 2021
Distinguished Members of this Group
You may have noticed that we have just changed the name of this Group from Global Law Discussion Forum to Global Human Right of Free Access to Law Discussion Group.
We think this new name reflects exactly what the Group is about and it also has additional value in promoting the Group.
Also, the new name is unique and cannot be mistaken for other groups, unlike the former name.
Finally, the new name provides the technical advantage of search engine optimisation (SEO) which is very important in the global Internet ecosystem.
Best regards
